Defense Department Confirms Microsoft Deal

Tech giant will provide cloud services for U.S. military.

Following a protest from Amazon, the Department of Defense announced on Monday that it would still be pursuing Microsoft as the company that would build and maintain its Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) cloud computing platform. The statement affirms that Microsoft’s proposal for the platform would provide the government with the best deal.

According to the statement, “The JEDI Cloud contract is a firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract that will make a full range of cloud computing services available to the DoD.”

Amazon Web Services stated that they would continue their protest of the Pentagon’s decision, which they view as being made unfairly against them. The inspector general of the Defense Department released a report earlier this year that found the awarding process for the JEDI project to be consistent with federal procurement laws and policies.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • That God would lead the Defense Department to the best solution to upgrade its systems
  • For the Trump Administration to find the safest storage for government information.
  • That the Department of Defense would be used by God to protect Americans.
